Why This Build

The 1% Build has exactly one rule: no price ceiling. Where every other tier on this site asks “what’s the most performance per dollar,” this one asks “what is the most performance, full stop.” The answer in June 2026 is roughly $7,700 — and the 2026 memory spike is responsible for an absurd share of it.

The RTX 5090 is the fastest consumer GPU in existence: 32GB of GDDR7, native 4K Ultra in everything here, and path tracing where the games support it. It’s paired with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D — 16 Zen 5 cores with 3D V-Cache, the highest gaming framerates available without leaving the consumer platform — kept cool by a 360mm Arctic Liquid Freezer III on an ASUS ROG Strix X670E-E with PCIe 5.0 and four M.2 slots.

Then the spike tax: a 64GB DDR5-6000 kit and a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro together run ~$1,780 right now, more than the entire Recession build costs. Neither is necessary for gaming — 32GB and 2TB would do — but a no-ceiling build takes the headroom, and in this market that headroom is brutally expensive.
