Why these numbers

Scaled from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s published PC requirements — the closest official comparable, and director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed the team stayed on Unreal Engine 4 rather than switching to UE5, so the engine cost carries over directly. PC is confirmed day-one (Steam + Epic). Confidence: moderate — same engine and series, though the release is far out (Spring 2027).

Recommended Builds

Recession Build — June 2026

~$920

1080p / Medium / 60 FPS (with XeSS) — estimated

Estimated against FF7 Rebirth's UE4 requirements. The Arc A580 should clear an estimated GTX 1070-class minimum and hold 1080p Medium with XeSS. Provisional until official specs land.

Budget Build — June 2026

~$1189

1080p / High / 60 FPS (with DLSS) — estimated

The RTX 5060 sits well past an estimated RTX 2060 Recommended tier — a comfortable 1080p 60 with DLSS. UE4 is lighter than the UE5 titles on the site, so this estimate has margin.

What to Upgrade First

Final Fantasy VII Revelation closes out Square Enix’s remake trilogy, and the most important hardware fact about it right now is the one that’s missing: there are no official PC requirements, and no Steam page exists yet. The release is a Spring 2027 window, not a firm date, so the specs below are estimates — and they will be replaced the moment Square Enix publishes a real sheet.

Two things make those estimates more than guesswork. First, PC is confirmed day-one this time. Unlike Remake and Rebirth, which were PlayStation timed exclusives, Revelation launches simultaneously on Steam and the Epic Games Store alongside consoles — so PC players are planning against a known launch, not a delayed port. Second, the engine is locked: director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed the team deliberately stayed on Unreal Engine 4 rather than moving to UE5, to keep the schedule off the newer engine’s roadmap. That matters for budgeting, because UE4 is meaningfully lighter than the UE5 titles elsewhere on this site, and the closest official comparable — FF7 Rebirth’s published PC specs — is also UE4.

So the planning anchor is Rebirth. Its PC minimum sat around a GTX 1070, its recommended around an RTX 2060, with a ~155 GB install and a 16 GB RAM floor. Revelation will likely land in the same neighborhood or a step above. Against that, every tier on this site is comfortable: the Recession Arc A580 clears the estimated floor, and the ladder scales cleanly from there. Treat the performance figures as provisional until the official sheet replaces them — when a Steam page appears, the spec monitoring sweep will catch it and this page goes live.
