Recession Build — June 2026
~$9201080p / Low-Medium / 60 FPS (with XeSS) — sits on the official minimum GPU
The floor, and Halo Studios names it directly. The minimum GPU line reads "AMD RX 6600 / Intel Arc A580 / NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super" — the Recession tier's Arc A580 is the literal minimum card, no inference needed. XeSS holds 1080p Low-Medium at 60. The Ryzen 5 7500F laps the i7-10700K / Ryzen 5 3600 CPU floor, and the 16 GB of DDR5 meets the minimum exactly — though this is one of the few games here where RAM keeps climbing above the floor.
| Component | Part | Price | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Case | Thermaltake S100 TG | $70 | $70 at Newegg |
| CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 7500F | $175 | $175 at Amazon |
| GPU | Intel Arc A580 8GB | $185 | $185 at Amazon |
| Motherboard | Gigabyte B650M DS3H | $130 | $130 at Amazon |
| PSU | Corsair RM750e 750W 80+ Gold | $72 | $72 at Amazon |
| RAM | G.Skill Flare X5 16GB DDR5-6000 (2x8GB) | $235 | $235 at Newegg |
| Storage | Patriot P300 256GB NVMe SSD | $53 | $53 at Amazon |
The comfortable 1080p tier. The RTX 5060 sits well past the RTX 2060 Super minimum, short of the RTX 3080 Ti recommended GPU but close enough that 1080p High at 60 with DLSS is a non-issue. RAM is the one thing this tier meets only at the minimum (16 GB); the recommended sheet asks for 32, so a future kit upgrade is the obvious headroom move here.

| Storage | Kingston NV2 1TB NVMe SSD | $157 | $157 at Amazon |
Over Budget: the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB pushes into 1440p High with DLSS, and the 32 GB of RAM lands exactly on the recommended spec — the first tier on the ladder that satisfies Halo's recommended memory ask rather than just its minimum.

Over Mid: the RTX 5070 clears the RTX 3080 Ti recommended bar outright — native 1440p Ultra, or 4K with DLSS — paired with 32 GB of recommended-spec RAM and the Ryzen 7 9800X3D burying the CPU floor. This is the tier that matches the full recommended sheet and then steps past it.

Over High: the RTX 5090 runs native 4K Ultra with frames to spare and 64 GB of RAM that the game will never touch.

What to Upgrade First
Halo: Campaign Evolved is Halo Studios’ ground-up remake of the 2001 original, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, and the recommended sheet is where that engine shows its weight. The published minimum is approachable — an RX 6600 / Arc A580 / RTX 2060 Super, a Ryzen 5 3600 / i7-10700K, 16 GB of RAM, and a 100 GB install — and the minimum GPU line names the Intel Arc A580 outright, which is exactly the card in this site’s Recession build. The cheapest tier here is running a card the developers listed by name, not squeaking past an inferred floor.
What sets this title apart from most on the site is that two things climb as you move up the ladder, not one. The GPU scales the way it always does — RX 6600-class at the floor, an RTX 3080 Ti / RX 9070 at recommended — but so does RAM, from 16 GB minimum to 32 GB recommended. That makes the Mid tier the inflection point: it is the first build whose 32 GB of memory meets the recommended spec rather than just the minimum, and the High tier’s RTX 5070 is the first GPU to clear the RTX 3080 Ti recommended card outright. So the single best upgrade depends on where you start. From the Recession or Budget floor, the move is the Mid tier — it is the cheapest rig that satisfies the recommended sheet on memory while reaching 1440p on the GPU. From there, the High tier’s RTX 5070 is what turns “meets recommended” into “comfortably past it” for 4K with DLSS.
The CPU is a non-event. Even the steeper-than-usual i7-10700K / Ryzen 5 3600 minimum is lapped by every chip on this site, down to the Recession tier’s Ryzen 5 7500F. Storage is a flat 100 GB at both tiers, and unusually for a 2026 release the spec sheet stops short of mandating an SSD — but treat one as required anyway; a UE5 streaming engine on a hard drive is a texture-pop slideshow. Recommended specs are fully published, so the performance figures above are anchored to a complete official sheet; this is a pre-release page, so they will firm up against real benchmarks once the game ships on July 28.
