Recommended Builds
The floor. The Arc A580 clears the GTX 1660 minimum GPU, and XeSS does the heavy lifting — Capcom's own minimum target is 1080p at 30 FPS upscaled from a 640p native render, so the Recession tier sits right on the official line. No hardware-RT requirement at the minimum tier.

The comfortable 1080p tier. The RTX 5060 sits past the RTX 2060 Super Recommended GPU, holding a real 1080p 60 with DLSS. This is also the first tier that unlocks the Nvidia-only path-tracing mode.

Over Budget: the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB reaches 1440p High with DLSS, and the extra VRAM helps with RE Engine's high-resolution textures. Path tracing is on the table but costs frames — DLSS holds the line.

What to Upgrade First
Resident Evil Requiem looks modest on paper and isn’t. Capcom’s RE Engine has always scaled down gracefully, and the minimum GPU is only a GTX 1660 — but read the fine print on the spec sheet. The minimum tier targets 1080p at 30 FPS from a 640p native render, and the recommended tier targets 1080p 60 from 720p native. Upscaling isn’t an option here; it’s baked into the requirements. That tells you the game is heavier at native resolution than the GPU names suggest, and that your first lever is upscaling quality, not raw raster.
For the standard game, this is a clean GPU ladder. The Recession Arc A580 clears the GTX 1660 minimum and lands on Capcom’s official 1080p/30 line with XeSS. The RTX 5060 passes the RTX 2060 Super recommended tier for a real 1080p 60, the 5060 Ti reaches 1440p, and the upper tiers run native 4K. The CPU floor is low — a Ryzen 5 5500 / i7-8700 recommended — so no build here is processor-limited, and 16 GB of RAM covers both official tiers. The SSD is mandatory.
The split that matters is path tracing. Requiem ships a full path-traced lighting mode on PC, and it is Nvidia-only — it forces DLSS Ray Reconstruction with no AMD or Intel fallback. So the Recession tier’s Arc A580 plays the game well but can’t touch the marquee visual mode. If path tracing is the reason you’re here, the entry point is the Budget tier’s RTX 5060; the RTX 5070 is where it becomes comfortable at 1440p, and the RTX 5090 where it stops costing you anything.
