Stranger than Heaven
PC hardware build guide for Stranger than Heaven — recession, budget, mid-range, and high-end rigs for RGG Studio's new action-adventure saga, due January 2027. Specs estimated; official requirements pending.
Predicted System Requirements Predicted
Estimate as of June 2026 — official requirements not yet published.
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) | Windows 11 (64-bit) |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-8400 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 | Intel Core i7-10700K / AMD Ryzen 5 5600 |
| GPU | NVIDIA GTX 1660 (6 GB) / AMD RX 5600 XT (6 GB) | NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti / AMD RX 6700 XT |
| RAM | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| Storage | ~60 GB SSD | ~60 GB SSD |
Why these numbers
Scaled from RGG Studio’s recent Dragon Engine titles (Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, 2024), lifted a generation for a 2027 release. RGG’s Dragon Engine is historically light on hardware, so the floor stays modest. Confidence: moderate — consistent engine family and a dated (January 2027) launch, but no spec sheet yet.
Recommended Builds
Low-confidence estimate — no official figures are published yet. RGG's Dragon Engine games have historically been light on hardware and scale down well, so the Arc A580 should clear a comfortable 1080p well above the estimated floor. Revisit when SEGA publishes real specs.

What to Upgrade First
Stranger than Heaven is RGG Studio’s new action-adventure saga — a fifty-year story across the cities and eras of modern Japan, from the team behind the Like a Dragon / Yakuza series — and the most important hardware fact about it right now is the one that’s missing: there are no official PC requirements. The Steam page is live, PC is confirmed day-one alongside PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (plus Game Pass for PC), but the spec blocks read “Windows / TBD” with no CPU, GPU, RAM, or storage. The launch is set for January 15, 2027, so everything below the OS line on this page is an estimate, and they will be replaced the moment SEGA publishes a real sheet.
The estimates lean on RGG’s own track record, which is unusually consistent. The studio’s Dragon Engine titles — Infinite Wealth and the Like a Dragon entries before it — have always run well below the AAA hardware curve: a low CPU floor, a mid-range GPU recommendation, and graceful scaling down to modest cards. A 2027 entry with a visual step up will lift that floor, but RGG games have never been the kind of release that demands a current-generation GPU just to boot. The likely shape is a minimum around a GTX 1660, a recommended tier near an RTX 3060 Ti, and the 16 GB RAM floor that every current-gen release now carries.
Against those placeholders, every tier here has margin to spare. RGG titles are GPU-bound but undemanding, so the build choice comes down to target resolution rather than raw horsepower. The Recession Arc A580 should clear 1080p comfortably; the Budget RTX 5060 opens a high-settings 1080p 60 with room to grow; the mid tier reaches 1440p, and the upper tiers run native 4K with ease. Treat all of it as provisional until the official sheet replaces it — when SEGA posts specs, the weekly spec monitoring sweep will catch it and this page goes live.
